Questions emailed to Embassy were responded to normally within 24 hours with a maximum of 72 hours. Instructions in the PKT-3 were simple, easy to follow, and were completed within a weekend. Payment of Visa Fee was made by credit card online and was processed/confirmed immediately. It is also possible to pay by bank transfer, although confirmation will take around 2-3 business days. Scheduling an appointment can only be done after payment/confirmation, and copy of DS160 Confirmation is sent to the Embassy by email. Medical Appointment (November 30): The medical appointment was fast and efficient. My fiancé brought his vaccine records (which I highly recommend) and was told he needed (3x) more. As of November 30, K-1 applicants are required to have the 3rd Dose of a Covid-19 vaccine - which you can get either in Spain or in the US at a pharmacy. Blood was taken, as well as an X-Ray at a nearby clinic. My fiancé asked for a copy of DS3025 Vaccine Worksheet, which is important for filing AOS later on. He arrived one hour early and was seen early by the doctor. At the X-Ray Clinic, he was given a CD which is important to have when entering the U.S. Document Review (November 30): The same day as the medical appointment, the Embassy requires all applicants come to drop off their documents for a Document Review a minimum of 21 Days before your scheduled Interview. While my fiancé came 19 Days before, it was not a problem. Total process took 20 minutes. He was asked for a passport photo, police certificate, and the I-134 support form. Fast and efficient as well. Interview (December 19): The interview phase of the K-1 was very easy and only took about two minutes, although we did wait about two hours to be seen by the Consular Officer. Our appointment was at 8:30 and we arrived slightly before. Both the petitioner and the beneficiary were present, but the CO only asked to speak to the beneficiary. After 3-4 brief questions, he handed us the “Welcome to the U.S” Letter. CAEC status was changed from APPLICATION RECEIVED to APPROVED two hours after the interview. December 20 @ 10:00am: ISSUED! December 22: Shipped via Correos (tracking sent via email) December 26: Delivered/Received! Envelope contained the passport and another sealed envelope which needs to be given to CBP at first point of entry into U.S. Please be careful when opening the larger envelope when it is delivered - as damaging the sealed one will create complication. 2024-05-16

The agents were not used to K1 applicants and seemed a little confused, but otherwise everything went smoothly. The whole process took maybe 15 minutes. It was a breeze! 2024-05-16
